PADI Rescue Diver

Do the PADI Rescue Diver course with Stellar Divers and you could save a life!

We all love to Scuba Dive – but are you prepared if the unlikely happens? The PADI Rescue Diver course allows you to develop and practice skills to give you the ability to have greater self awareness and very importantly, help others. It has been said that this is possibly the most satisfying and fun of all PADI courses.

The course looks at prevention, recognition and the essential knowledge required to deal with most situations. It covers both personal and buddy problems throughout each session, it is a pivotal step in expanding your knowledge and experience. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers. The Rescue Diver training expands the basic problem prevention and accident management skills you learnt in the Open Water Diver course.

Course prerequisites:

You must be at least 12 years old and be a PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent).

You must take the Emergency First Response course or be certified with another organisation in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-Primary Care) and basic First Aid (Secondary Care) within the past 24 months. If you are not sure if your qualification is sufficient we will give you a steer.

You will also complete an Emergency Action Plan for a dive site of your instructors choosing during the course.

What to Expect:

The course involves approximately 15 hours of Knowledge Development in which you’ll learn the foundation for preventing and handling dive emergencies. It’s divided into 5 segments that you’ll complete in your own time on desktop or tablet using the PADI eRescue Diver package.  Once you have completed the sections there is a final exam that you will be asked to do. You can complete the Emergency Assistance Plan (EAP) at any time during the course, we are on hand if you need any help with this. The bonus is you can use the EAP you create towards your PADI Divemaster course should you wish to go Pro!

The course has options; we will either complete 2 Rescue Training Sessions in the pool then go to an open water dive site to finish or we will complete the entire course over a full weekend at a dive site, perhaps a weekend away at Capernwray would suit you?

Simon Hotchkin, PADI Rescue Diver, Stellar Divers, Lincoln

Either way once you have mastered the 10 required rescue skill exercises you will then bring it all together & complete 2 Open Water Rescue Scenarios to test your ability and complete the certification as a PADI Rescue Diver.

As with all of our courses as we are always running these certifications so we can make the schedule flexible to suit your requirements.
