This is terrible news; there has been an environmental disaster at Blue Lagoon. This has been caused by UK Coal tipping mining spoil in the quarry opposite. The run off water from the spoil has then entered the shared underground water course and gushed into Blue Lagoon causing an environmental disaster. It has unfortunately (until it is rectified) ruined a beautiful dive site for all of us.
To add insult to injury the planning authority are now considering an application by UK coal to extend the site where the tipping is taking place, this of course cannot in clear conscience be allowed to happen.
The huge profile of this incident has now reached parliament and Nigel Adams MP is fighting for Martin & Sharon.
