PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation

Learn about the complexity of these underwater habitats, including how you can help conserve these vital systems. Any diver or non-diver can take this course.

Everyone likes to scuba dive or snorkel in warm, clear water on a vibrant coral reef, yet many people know little about what they’re seeing or the importance of reef ecosystems

1. Course overview

Anyone who has an interest in the aquatic world can take this course. There are no prerequisites or age restrictions and no water sessions are required to earn this non-diving certification.

The Coral Reef Conservation course references information in the digital manual – AWARE – Our World, Our Water.

2. What you'll learn

Through classroom discussions, you learn:

How coral reefs function and the complex nature of life on a reef

Why coral reefs are so important

Why many coral reefs are in serious trouble

What you can do to prevent further decline

How Project AWARE unites divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference

3. Equipment

No equipment is needed for this course, as there is no diving as part of the course requirements.

4. Learning materials

We will send you any e-Learning materials needed for your specialty course, which will take you to the registration area of the PADI site. This teaches you the background information you need for your course, and allows you to study at your own pace.

You can complete this on pretty much any device with an internet connection.

Some courses also have physical learning content, which we can give you once you’re enrolled.

You can book and pay for your course with us online, either for yourself or someone else. We’ll send over any e-Learning content to your email, and we can then work with you on suitable dates and times for any in-person sessions.
