PADI Seal team

If you’re between the ages of 8 and 12, and looking for some serious fun, then the PADI Seal Team may just be what you are looking for!

You’ll use real scuba gear in the swimming pool and learn all the same cool skills that us older divers have to learn too – including clearing your mask and recovering your regulator.

Plus you’ll learn to float like an astronaut underwater, which we feel is a pretty cool skill, too!

1. Course overview

The PADI Seal Team certification consists of 5 exciting aqua mission dives!

Each one is FUN from start to finish, and lasts around 2 hours. You’ll be with one of our friendly Instructors, who’ll guide you through the skills as your buddy. Once qualified, you’ll get an official card from PADI to celebrate your achievement!

The full course is carried out in our swimming pool, in Lincoln. To participate, you must be between the ages of 8 to 12 years. old and comfortable being in water, although no prior experience is necessary.

Parental approval is naturally required. For your peace of mind, we hold enhanced DBS (previously CRB) checks, and we are a PADI accredited youth training centre (something we are particularly proud of!).

2. What you'll learn

You learn some of the very same diving skills that we learn in the PADI Open Water diving course, under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional.

You learn how wearing scuba equipment feels, and how easy it is to move around and breathe underwater while wearing it.

After you become a Seal Team member, you can carry on with an additional 10 Aqua Missions to earn the coveted rating of PADI Master Seal. Here you’ll have even more fun and learn really important skills, such as how to use a compass underwater, look after the environment, and even recover missing objects!

3. Equipment

We’ll provide everything you need for the Seal Team course.

You’ll use a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD), scuba regulator to breathe, and the instrumentation to monitor your depth and air supply. Your BCD will also carry a (small) scuba cylinder for your air supply.

Even though we’re diving in a pool, you’re welcome to hire one of our wetsuits to get a feel for these too. Alternatively just bring a swimsuit and t-shirt.

4. Learning materials

This course has a short knowledge study requirement, however it is home study orientated and fun – so there is no formal classroom study as such!

Ready to start?

We charge just £190 for this fantastic course, plus £20 for each additional Seal Mission towards your Master Seal certification (optional).

You can book and pay for your course with us online, either for yourself or someone else. We’ll send over any e-Learning content to your email, and we can then work with you on suitable dates and times for any practical sessions.

We have availability most weekends throughout the year, although if you have specific dates or a timeline in mind, please check with us first.
