PADI Freediver

Need a challenge, want to do something amazing? Then you need to be a PADI Freediver. Humans have been Freediving for over 8000 years, the Chinchorian an ancient people that lived circa 6,000BC in what is today Chile and their ilk dove for pearls and sponges, the first underwater items to find value amongst in-land societies and those without the skills with which to dive for them.

In 332 BC, Alexander the Great famously used freedivers to dismantle the underwater booms preventing his ships from entering the harbor during the siege of Tyre.

Freediving has evolved, breath holding techniques and protocols are now cutting edge. Join us, let us show you how to be an amazing PADI Freediver, discover your inner power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you.

The first step towards qualification is the PADI Basic Freediver course.  We start off in the classroom with an introduction to the techniques, physiology and safety protocols of freediving.  We then take what we have learned to the pool, learning breathhold techniques and static and dynamic apnea.  The goal for the course is to achieve static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet.

If you wish to progress further the next step is PADI Freediver where we take our knowledge development and skills learnt in confined water to open water.  Here we will practice free immersion, constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures.  The Goal is to achieve a constant weight dive to 10 Metres.
