PADI Rescue Diver

Do the PADI Rescue Diver course with Stellar Divers and you could save a life!

We all love to Scuba Dive – but are you prepared if the unlikely happens? The PADI Rescue Diver course allows you to develop and practice skills to give you the ability to have greater self awareness and very importantly, help others. It has been said that this is possibly the most satisfying and fun of all PADI courses.

The course looks at prevention, recognition and the essential knowledge required to deal with most situations. It covers both personal and buddy problems throughout each session, it is a pivotal step in expanding your knowledge and experience. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves to consider the safety and well-being of other divers. The Rescue Diver training expands the basic problem prevention and accident management skills you learnt in the Open Water Diver course.

PADI Rescue Diver, Stellar Divers, LincolnCourse prerequisites:

You must be 12 years old and be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.

Prior to Knowledge Development Session 2 and Rescue Training Session 2 you must have taken the Emergency First Response course or another sanctioned Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-Primary Care) and basic First Aid (Secondary Care) course within the past 24 months.

What to Expect: The course involves approximately 15 hours of Knowledge Development in which you’ll learn the foundation for preventing and handling dive emergencies. It’s divided into 5 segments that you’ll complete primarily in your own time, using the Rescue Diver manual and DVD.  There is a Final Exam which you will take in our Lincoln Scuba School Office to confirm you’ve learnt all of the information you need. You also need to prepare an Emergency Assistance Plan, which can also be used in the Divemaster course should you go on to do it!

The course has options; we will either complete 3 Rescue Training Sessions in the pool, in which you will learn rescue and awareness skills in 10 rescue scenarios, or we will complete the entire course over a full weekend at a dive site.  Either way once you have mastered the 10 rescue skill sessions you will complete 2 Open Water Rescue Scenarios to test you ability and complete the certification as a PADI Rescue Diver. As with all of our courses the schedule’s flexible and can be tailored to suit your requirements.
