PADI Bubblemaker
Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds – a chance for kids to blow bubbles by scuba diving! Children at least 8 years old will get to use scuba gear to breathe underwater, and swim around in shallow water in our indoor pool.
It’s perfect for parties, and also a great way for any child to experience scuba diving if they’re not yet old enough to begin their PADI Open Water certification or participate in the Discover Scuba Diving experience.
1. Overview
There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time, it’s simply amazing! After the first few minutes of awestruck wonder, most people realise how easy scuba diving really is.
The full session is carried out in our swimming pool, in Lincoln. To participate, you must be at least 8 years old and comfortable being in water, although no prior experience is necessary.
Parental approval is naturally required. For your peace of mind, we hold enhanced DBS (previously CRB) checks, and we are a PADI accredited youth training centre (something we are particularly proud of!).
2. What they'll learn
Bubblemakers get a chance to experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of one of our PADI Professionals, and will take their first breaths in shallow water less than 2m depth.
They also get to learn about, and use, scuba diving equipment made specifically for children – and have lots of fun of course!
3. Equipment
We’ll provide everything needed for the Bubblemaker experience.
They’ll use a mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD), scuba regulator to breathe, and the instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply. Your BCD will also carry a (small) scuba cylinder for their air supply.
Even though we’re diving in a pool, you’re welcome to hire one of our wetsuits to get a feel for these too. Alternatively just bring a swimsuit and t-shirt.
4. Materials
We’ll provide a Bubblemaker Crew-Pak, which contains fantastic momentos of the experience and is full of fun surprises – including a kid-sized beach towel, logbook, certificate, temporary tattoo, sticker decal, plus a very popular and adorable Bubblemaker water toy (we hear adults love them too!).

You can book and pay for your course with us online, either for yourself or someone else. We’ll send over any e-Learning content to your email, and we can then work with you on suitable dates and times for any practical sessions.
We have availability most weekends throughout the year, although if you have specific dates or a timeline in mind, please check with us first.

Once they complete a Bubblemaker programme, they’ll most likely want to check out our PADI Seal Team course. It’s specifically designed for 8 to 12 year olds, and is great fun!
If they’re at least 1o years old, they can also begin their PADI Open Water course. This is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. It’s great fun, and very fulfilling!
